This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Mark Branham who was born in Indiana on April 21, 1953 and passed away at his home in Montrose, Colorado on April 08, 2005 at the age of 51. Mark was a very gentle, kind and compassionate man that spent his life trying to help others. He had such a kindness to him that everyone that knew Mark.....loved him. Mark had a personality that was fun to be around. He could be very serious or he could be the life of the party. All ages loved to be around him. He could spend an afternoon visiting with the elderly....enjoying it very much. He could entertain the younger ones.....taking them to shoot skeet or go hunting with them. He could play for hours with small children.....making them feel so special. He had the patience to take small children fishing......spending most of the time baiting the hooks. Mark just had a way about him that made it enjoyable to be around.....no matter what your age was. Mark met Darlene Lewis in December of 1971. It was love at first sight. Darlene lived in Colorado and Mark lived in Indiana. They began a five month courtship across the miles via mail and a few phone calls. Mark moved to Colorado in May of 1972. His relationship with Darlene grew rapidly. He proposed to her on July 7th and was married on November 3, 1972. They were both very young but their love was more than enough to make this marriage work. Mark and Darlene was blessed with three beautiful children, one daughter and two sons. Mark was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He would go to any lengths to make his wife happy.....treating her as good as any man possibly could. Mark was blessed with four grandchildren.....another one on the way when he passed away. He loved his grandchildren and had a bond with them that will never be forgotten. He could be so gentle with them and he could also be very ornery with them. He loved teasing them and they loved it too.....never getting enough. Mark was a building contractor.....building custom homes. He had a very successful business. Mark was struck with a terrible affliction......depression. It hit him fast and it hit him hard. He battled so hard to fight it......pleading with God to deliver him. He was very kind and pitiful during the last three weeks of his life. His family all tried to help him. He lost the battle and ended his life with suicide. Mark will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
