Mark's Legacy
Mark's legacy.....where do I begin? Mark was one of the most caring people I have ever met.....therefore leaving a legacy that words cannot describe. One of the greatest legacies that Mark left would be his example of faith. He not only taught the way to live, he lived the way he taught. He was truly a pillar to lean on. Now we are all trying to learn to stand without this great pillar to hold us up. He taught us how to love God. He taught us of the importance of putting God first in our lives. He looked for the good in others.....over looking the bad. He was an example of hospitality......he loved to have people in his home. Mark was very good to include those as guests that were over looked by others. He was never a respecter of persons. He was an example of mercy......Mark showed kindness to all. He was never quick to pass judgment on anyone, giving everyone hope to do better. Mark's ministry was delivered in a tender, meek way. A way that was far reaching. Mark filled his days checking on others, yet never neglecting his own family. If you ever needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to pray for you in the middle of the night.....Mark was always there. Mark believed in prayer. I can't tell you how many times a day that Mark prayed but I can tell you that I know he started every single day on his knees beside his bed praying to God. This is the legacy that Mark left the world. For me, he left a legacy of what a great husband is. He was my partner, my lover, my friend. He was my comfort, my strength, my courage. My support, my guide, my helper. My life......... The shock to the world when Mark took his life is indescribable. Not one single answer for this. How a man like Mark could leave this world in such a manner will remain a mystery. I do know this.....the legacy of the church is what Mark did leave for us. If we can just remember all his examples.....it will help us through these dark days.
